Myself in front of a few works from the Everything’s Gone Green Series

Max Brown

Max is a 27 year old artist currently residing in his homeland of Christchurch, New Zealand.

An artist of all features spreading across Paint, Print, Sonic & digital, Max enjoys to create to the definition of requirement.

Having studied in Wellington and completing his bachelors in Design Innovation, he set out to be an Artist in all fields. Industrial design has given him the ability to create between disciplines. In 2015, himself a group of peers founded the Artist Residents which continues to be a driving factor behind all work.

“I’m in love with nature and the ability to express myself, I leave it all out in my medium. Here you will find my workings alongside the stories they tell, enjoy.”

Alongside Artist and Mother, Sheila Brown, Max has opened an art gallery in central city, Christchurch called Xgaleri. The gallery is a shared space studio where the pair exhibit their artwork full-time.

Xgaleri: Tuesday - Saturday 10 - 4pm

Nature’s Finest

Outside of Fine Arts, You will find Max clinging to outdoor’s most beautiful sculptures in a spiritual pursuit of rock and determination. It is a divine experience that cleanses both body and soul, and a large contributing factor that Max likes to blend into his practice.

“Making interiors beautiful”

Recently a lot of my work has been about style and how I include it in my findings in experience. I am an experiential artist, who tends to reflect a lot of emotion through abstract nature and story telling. I get feelings, calling to me, asking me to follow the road, the ability to express oneself is in the handful of greatest gifts ever given.

“More as I progress through the early stages of my career, I find myself drawn back and back again to the land and the sea. I want to tell stories and make interiors beautiful, I believe my most recent works reflect this well, but it is in all of them, they are a piece of my heart.”
